Method
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just mixed. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
Baking
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Assembly
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, espresso (or coffee), and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Once the brownies are cooled, spread the tiramisu layer evenly on top. Smooth the surface with a spatula.
Chilling
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, allowing the tiramisu layer to set.
Serving
- Dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder, slice into squares, and enjoy!
Notes
Ensure the espresso or coffee you use is strong to enhance the flavor of the Tiramisu layer. Allow the brownies to cool completely before adding the mascarpone layer to prevent it from melting. Experiment with different chocolate chip types, such as dark chocolate or milk chocolate, to customize the flavor.
