Ingredients

For the Melts
  • 1 can refrigerated flaky biscuits (8 count) These will be the outer shell of the melts.
  • 3/4 cup cooked shrimp, chopped Use fresh or frozen shrimp, thawed and chopped.
  • 3/4 cup lump crab meat Choose high-quality lump crab for best flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Feel free to experiment with other cheeses.
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened This helps bind the filling.
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning Adds fantastic seafood flavor.
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped For garnish and added freshness.
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted For brushing on top before baking.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. On a baking sheet, slightly flatten each biscuit with your fingers.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine chopped shrimp, lump crab, shredded mozzarella cheese, softened cream cheese, Old Bay seasoning, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
Assembly
  1. Spoon the filling onto half of the flattened biscuits.
  2. Place the other half on top and pinch the edges to seal them firmly. Press down lightly to ensure the biscuits stick.
  3. Use a brush to coat the tops of your biscuit melts with melted butter.
Cooking
  1. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 13-15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and fully cooked.
  2. Let the melts rest for about 2 minutes before slicing if desired, or serve them whole.

Notes
