  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract is preferred.
  • 4 cups powdered sugar Add gradually until the frosting is thick.
Toppings
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips For topping.
  • 1 cup miniature Reese's peanut butter cups Halved for decoration.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large bowl, prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions (typically requires adding oil, eggs, and water). Whisk until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  4. In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, butter, peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the powdered sugar to the mixture, mixing until it becomes thick and creamy.
  6. Spread the frosting mixture over the cake batter in the dish.
  7. Sprinkle chocolate chips and halved Reese's cups on top, pressing them gently into the frosting.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
Serving
  1. Serve slices with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
