Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound beef steak (sliced thinly) Choice of steak for best results.
  • 4 cups broccoli florets Fresh or thawed frozen broccoli can be used.
Sauce and Seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Use tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce Hoisin sauce can be used as a substitute.
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch Helps thicken the sauce.
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) Freshly minced for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced) Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 cup beef broth Substitute with vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust to personal preference.
Cooking Oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Can use any neutral oil.

Method
 

Marinate the Beef
  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
Cook the Beef
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef to the pan and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Prepare Broccoli
  1. In the same pan, add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the broccoli florets and beef broth to the pan, cover, and allow to steam for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender.
Combine and Serve
  1. Return the beef to the pan, mix well, and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook for another 2 minutes until everything is heated through.
  3. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

This dish is great served with a garnish of sesame seeds or sliced green onions. Extra sauce can be prepared if desired for a saucier meal. For a bit of heat, add red pepper flakes.
