Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 head of lettuce (such as butter or romaine)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stirring until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil, mixing well.
  4. Add the diced bell peppers and shredded carrots to the beef mixture, cooking until the veggies are tender, approximately 3-5 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  7. Serve the beef mixture in lettuce cups, topped with chopped green onions.

Notes

To store leftovers, allow the beef mixture to cool to room temperature, then transfer it to an airtight container. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Store the beef filling and lettuce separately to maintain the crunchiness of the lettuce. Reheat the beef mixture gently before serving again.
