Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and salt, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually incorporate the all-purpose flour, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Scoop small balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
- Gently press each ball down and sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
These cookies can be enjoyed warm or stored for later. They make a great treat with tea or coffee or as a gift in a decorative box. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze unbaked dough balls for longer storage.
