Egg Mixture
  • 3 large eggs (beaten)
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
Sandwich Assembly
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided) 2 tablespoons for cooking, 1 tablespoon for spreading
  • 2 slices bread Use your favorite type of bread
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese Can substitute with any cheese variety
  • 2 slices deli ham

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread with 1 tablespoon of butter and set them aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  2. Once the butter has melted in the skillet, pour in the eggs, swirling the pan to ensure they reach the edges.
  3. Place both slices of bread, buttered side up, on top of the eggs, ensuring the edges touch.
  4. Cook undisturbed until the eggs are fully set and no longer runny, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Carefully flip the cooked eggs along with the slices of bread.
  6. On one slice of bread, layer the cheddar cheese followed by the ham. Fold any excess egg over the ham.
  7. Close the sandwich with the other slice of bread, pressing down gently.
  8. Flip the sandwich to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the sandwich is golden brown.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy every bite!

Notes

For added flavor, incorporate herbs like chives or parsley into the eggs. To store leftovers, let the sandwich cool completely and wrap tightly for up to 3 days. Reheat carefully to avoid overcooking.
