Preparation
- In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Then, crumble it and set it aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and a sprinkle of salt if desired.
- Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
- Layer the thawed hash browns in the bottom of the dish, followed by the crumbled bacon.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the top.
- Carefully pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients, ensuring it soaks in and covers everything.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the casserole for 40-45 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set and the top is golden brown.
- If the top browns too quickly, gently cover it with foil.
Serving
- Let the casserole sit for about 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions before slicing and serving hot.
Notes
Make ahead by preparing the casserole the night before and refrigerating it. Bake in the morning.
