- Begin by heating the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook for approximately 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
- Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Introduce the broccoli to the pot, cooking for another 2–3 minutes until it starts to soften.
- Pour in the orzo, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring everything to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer.
- Cover the pot and cook for 10–12 minutes or until the orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed.
- Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it’s melted and well-combined.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley for a pop of color and flavor.
Notes
For a creamier texture, add a splash of cream or extra Parmesan just before serving. Feel free to substitute chicken sausage with turkey sausage or plant-based options.
