  • 1 cup warm water Ensure it is warm but not hot.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Topping Ingredients
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Use full-fat for best melting.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted For brushing tops.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Cooking
  1. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a baking sheet.
  2. Brush the top with melted butter.
  3. Sprinkle mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning evenly on top.
  4. Cut into sticks and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using different cheeses like cheddar or gouda, and experiment with toppings such as chopped herbs or crushed red pepper.
