Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz cheese-filled tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet; cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Cook tortellini according to package directions until al dente, then drain.
  6. Combine the cooked tortellini with the meat mixture, ensuring everything is well coated.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish; top with mozzarella cheese and sprinkle Parmesan on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serving
  1. Slice the Beefy Tortellini Bake into square portions and serve hot. For an appealing presentation, garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Pair it with a side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal!
Storage
  1. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through. You can also freeze the bake for up to 3 months—just ensure it is well-covered to prevent freezer burn.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms to the meat mixture. If you prefer a slightly spicier dish, add red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce. Try using different types of cheese, like provolone or cheddar, for a unique twist.
